Garcia

In Loving Memory of Alicia (Alice) Seferina Garcia
January 6, 1940 – May 27, 2026
With profound love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Alicia, who left this world peacefully on May 27, 2026, surrounded by family.
Born in Nambe, NM, Alicia lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was a guiding light—offering wisdom without judgment, comfort without condition, and joy in the smallest of moments.
Her hands were rarely still—whether tending to the house with her vibrant spirit, preparing meals that nourished both body and soul, or keeping track of six boys. She believed in the beauty of simple things, a shared laugh, a warm cup of coffee, or enjoying a quiet dessert with gratitude.
To her children, she was a safe harbor; to her friends, a steadfast confidante; to her community, a source of generosity and grace. Her legacy is not only in the love she gave but, in the love, she inspired in others.
Alicia was preceded in death by her husband Jose Garcia, her parents Cornelio and Antonia Herrera; her brothers Manuel (Viola), Lazaro, and Cornelio Jr. Herrera (Marie); her sister Edalia Crespin; her grandson Joshua Garcia; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Ramona Garcia; and her brothers-in-law Julio Crespin and Donald Britton.
Alicia is survived by her sons Herman, Anthony, Christopher (Carmen), Michael (Tammy), Matthew (Loretta), and Mark Garcia; brothers George (Laura) and Jake Herrera; sisters Corine Flores, Rose Martinez (Joe) and Marilyn Britton; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces, who will carry forward her values of compassion, humility, and hope. Though our hearts ache, we find comfort in knowing her light will continue to shine in the lives she touched.
A celebration of her life will be held on June 4, 2026, at St. Annes Church at 9:00 a.m. Services will start with a rosary, eulogy, mass, and reception. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National cemetery on June 9, 2026, at 2:45 p.m. A viewing will also be held on June 3rd, 2026, at Santa Fe Funerals and Cremations from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers: Gabriel, Stephen, Thomas & Adam Garcia, Mathew Anaya & William Lacasella
