In Loving Memory
On September 4, 2025, Andy Daniel Olivas went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Born on February 29, 1976, in Los Alamos, New Mexico, Andy was the cherished son of Andrew and Irene Olivas. Though his time on earth was too short, he filled his years with love, faith, and generosity.
Andy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved camping and fishing, often saying he just wanted to “see if the fish were biting.” He also had a gift for cooking and delighted in serving others, always ready to help with a smile and open hands.
Above all, Andy’s life was marked by his faith in Jesus Christ. His devotion was seen in his worship, his joy in singing, and most of all, in the way he loved his children. His faith was not just words but a light that touched everyone around him.
Andy was preceded in death by his beloved twin children, Steve and Angel Olivas; his sister, Sonya Olivas; his brother, Randy Mondragon; and his grandparents, Manuel and Dolores Olivas, and Jose and Dolores Rodriguez.
He is survived by a loving family who will forever carry his memory: his children—Gabriel (partner Marissa),Jordan, Jaden, and Andrew—and their mother, Michelle; his treasured grandchildren—Lucas, Lawrence, Gracie, Nayla, Nizhoni, and Tama; his parents, Irene Olivas and Andrew Olivas (and wife, Verena); his brothers Carlos (Maricela), Levi (Tina), Gabriel (Hannah), JJ, and his sister Amanda. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family who will always remember his kindness.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at El Buen Pastor Church in Española on Friday, September 19, at 6:00 p.m., followed by food and fellowship. In keeping with Andy’s wishes, his ashes will be laid to rest alongside his beloved twins, Steve and Angel, at the family ranch in La Jara, NM.
Andy’s love for God, his family, and his community will remain his lasting legacy. May he rest in peace, reunited with those who went before him, and forever held in God’s loving arms.
