Bonnie Harkleroad

Bonnie Harkleroad was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be sorely missed. Bonnie passed away at the age of 82, on Thursday morning, July 24, 2025 at home, after a short illness. Her daughter Deana was by her side.

 She was born in Texas on March 26, 1943, as her mother wanted to be with family, while her father was fighting in Europe during WWII. After 6 months, they came back to Santa Fe where she grew up. She became an x-ray technician in 1962, and worked on and off for 40+ years, taking some time off to raise her family.

 Bonnie retired when she was 65, and spent the last 17 years quietly at home. She enjoyed her church family and her grand and great-grand children, who were very special to her. It has been said that she was a “special lady”, “very sweet”, “a good friend”, and “really good at teaching”. To her family, she was affectionately known as “Maam”.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1313 Apache Ave. Viewing at 10:00 am, and service to start at 11:00. She will be buried at Memorial Gardens on Rodeo Road at 3:00pm, surrounded by her parents and son, Glen.
