"It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved child, Darius Daniel Shapouri Wood. He had just turned 14 years old, and was in 8th grade at Mandela International Magnet School. He loved to play chess, video games, Dungeons & Dragons, and with his little brothers. He had a bright and beautiful soul and was never afraid to express himself. He had big dreams about making a difference in the world, and all of the potential needed to achieve them. He had also been through an enormous amount of trauma in addition to battling internal demons already, and succumbed to his depression and took his own life.

Darius is survived by his mother, Roxanna Shapouri, his father, Daniel Wood, and his two brothers, Orion and Ronan, as well as an incalculable amount of chosen family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 1-5pm, located at 1091 Siler Rd Suite A1, Santa Fe, NM 87507. It is the family’s greatest wish that Darius’ community show up to celebrate him. Darius never truly believed he was loved in life - he needs to see how loved he was and how many people’s lives he made an impact on. "
