David Edward "Walter" Frazee went to surf with the aliens on December 26, 2025, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was 71 years old.
Born on July 15, 1954, in Phoenix, Arizona, David spent his life grounded in the values of hard work and craftsmanship. A lifelong mechanic, he dedicated his career to understanding and repairing the machines that keep the world moving. His hands were rarely still - whether under the hood of a car, tuning up his old desktop computer, or assembling and flying model airplanes. He found joy in photography, traveling all over the Southwest capturing its majesty. Through the lens of a camera or the delicate wings of a miniature aircraft, he captured beauty and precision in equal measure. A certified goofy guy, David found joy in making others laugh, and he will be remembered for his eccentric sense of humor.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Valerie Frazee; his children, Sam and husband, Ryan Coburn, Tori Frazee and cats Trixie and Ball; his granddaughter, Cordelia Coburn; his brother, Dennis and wife, Sue Frazee; his nieces and nephews, Brandon Frazee, Erica Frazee, Cody Frazee, Mac Verwers, Maizley Verwers, and Micah Verwers; his mother and father-in-law, Cordell and Susie Verwers; his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Michelle Verwers; and all the cats he “didn’t want.”
David was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Helena Frazee; and his sister, Karen Shackleford.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 31, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Christ Church Santa Fe, 1213 Don Gaspar Avenue., with lunch to follow. Please dress colorfully - as Dave would have loved it.
