Elizabeth A. Ronquillo

October 10, 1949-June 26, 2024

Elizabeth (Betsy) Ronquillo of Santa Fe, NM joined our guardian angels on June 26, 2024. Although taken far too soon, her life was full of happiness, warmth and love just like her soul.

Betsy was born in Winona, MN in October of 1949. As the daughter of an IBM executive, she saw parts of this country many could only dream about at the time. She graduated from Lourdes high school in Rochester, MN in 1967 and eventually received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1971. After building an exemplary career with the Department of Energy, she found her way to the place she loved most in the world, Santa Fe, NM.

It was there, she met her husband Felix and went on to have, in this writers opinion, three amazing boys. She retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1992 after the untimely death of her husband. She then spent her life in the service of her family, which was the most important thing to her. Whether cheering at sporting events or helping with homework, her family was at the center of her world and always was until her final days.

Betsy was preceded in death by her loving husband Felix, and her parents Joseph and Marcia Snyder. She is survived by her eldest son Matthew and his wife Heather and their children Elle (Elizabeth) and Evan. Her son Adam and his wife Kelly and their son Camden. Her son Dan and his wife Christina. Her sisters Mary Jo, Monica and her husband Dave, and Connie and her husband John, as well as many other family members and friends.

A small service will be held at Rosario Cemetery on October 26th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Santa Fe, ASPCA of Santa Fe, or the Sierra Club.
