Eloy Chavez, age 68, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, June 6th, 2026. He was born on July 29th, 1957 in Estancia, New Mexico to Enrique and Anita Chavez. He was the ninth of ten children, and the baby boy of the family. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1961, when Eloy was just 4 years old. He attended school at Eugene Field elementary, Lincoln Jr. high, then finally Albuquerque high school. He moved to California with his sister Rosie, where he lived for many years. There is where he had his first and only child Monica Anita Rosalia Chavez. She brought so much joy into his life and he loved her deeply. He moved back to Albuquerque in 2006, where he remained the rest of his life.

He found joy in the simple things, especially spending time with his family and riding his bicycle. He enjoyed feeling the wind on his face and taking in the beauty of the world, while trying to stay fit. Those rides not only brought him joy, but it was a reflection of his peaceful spirit, and his appreciation for life.He was greeted in Heaven on June 6th 2026, back into the loving arms of his beloved mother, who he lost at 9 years old and missed dearly, Anita Chavez. He was then reunited with his father Enrique Chavez, his brothers, Leo and Ray Chavez (Marie), his sister's Rosie Chavez-Alderette (Rodney), Maria Chavez, Sally Chavez, and Lucy Balderrama. He is survived by his beloved daughter , Monica Anita Rosalia Chavez , his brother's, Henry Chavez Jr (Janie) and Mel Chavez (Mela), his sister Rita Navarrette (Salvador), his 24 beloved nieces and nephews, Joe Frank, Kathy, Adam, Virginia, Priscilla, Anita, Eliseo, Josie, Salvador Jr, Lorraine, Julie, Janice, Raymond Jr, Beverly, Melissa, Jeremy, Robert, Monica, Maryann, Danny, Leo, Denise, Yvonne and Rodney Jr, as well as many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was a man whose quiet strength, warm heart, sense of humor, and humility left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his soft-spoken nature, his genuine warmth, and his kind, loving heart. He is deeply loved and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He proudly dedicated his faith, and professed his belief in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, through baptism on Sunday, August 24th, 2025 at calvary church in Albuquerque.
