Jerry Michael (Mike) Rosebery, 80, of Longview, Texas, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully in hospice care in Santa Fe, NM, on September 6, 2026. His wife Chariss Miller was by his side. Mike was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to L.D. and Dorothy (Riggs) Rosebery, who, along with a brother, Rex, predeceased him.

Mike’s life was an inspiring journey of dedication, knowledge, and warmth. Raised in Borger, Texas, he graduated from Borger High School before pursuing higher education at Frank Phillips College and Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where he earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s degree in Language Arts Education.

Throughout his varied and accomplished career, Mike touched many lives. He was a high school teacher at Chaparral High School in Kansas, where he shared his passion for learning with countless students. Later, he transitioned to a managerial role at Phillips Petroleum and further explored his talents as a photographer, reporter, and printer with The Boise City News. His love for history and the written word led him to serve as an archivist at Louisiana State University. He also contributed his expertise as a pre-press tech at the Farm Credit Bank of Texas and worked with the University of Texas.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mike was a man of many talents and interests. An avid photographer and printmaker, he captured the beauty of the world through his lens and artistic creations. His adventurous spirit led him to explore new places, always eager to learn and experience more. A voracious reader, Mike was known for his extensive knowledge and insightful conversations. His excellent sense of humor and sensitivity made him a cherished friend to many, and his presence was a source of joy and comfort.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Chariss, his loving daughter, Rebecca, and his brother, Jim. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and a caring uncle to six nieces and nephews. His legacy of kindness and wisdom will also live on through the many friends he made throughout his life.
