Juan Ignacio (Natch) Garcia was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Remigio and Chena Garcia on February 1, 1943. He passed away on May 11, 2025 unexpectedly, but peacefully.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Edwina in 2011. They had been married 47 years at the time of her passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his baby brother, Charlie, his father and mother-in-law, Rosinaldo and Adela Romero, his brothers -in-law, Oliver Romero, Howard Trimborn, his sister-in law Celina Romero.
He attended St. Francis and St. Michael's Catholic School. He married Edwina in 1964 in Santa Fe. Shortly thereafter they moved to Los Angeles, California, for a few years. Upon returning to Santa Fe he worked for and retired from the NM Highway Department (now NM Department of Transportation), He like hanging out with his casino buddy, nephew and friend, Johnny Romero, and best friend Toby Mora.
He liked talking to people and telling (sometimes embellished) stories of his past . He also enjoyed listening to rock and roll and Ranchera music and would add some levity to those around him when he'd break out dancing to his music. He also enjoyed concerts, comedy shows, train rides, plays and spending time with his son and daughter's families, sisters, as well as with his brothers and sisters- in- law, and game night with his grandson Chris and his girlfriend, Olivia Ortiz.
He was always game for anything and always had a smile on his face. He lived life on his own terms but made an impact on everyone he met.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon and her son, Chris; Paul and his son Gavin and Ciara, and his great-grandson, Rowan;and his granddaughter, Lyric.
He is also survived by his brother, Jose Garcia, his sisters Connie Kinsy, and Mabel Jaramillo (Steve) his sisters-in-law Dolores Trimborn and Yolanda Jacobs (Mark) brothers-in-law, Henry Romero (Pauline) and Rudy Romero , numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
His services will be June 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at The Grove Central at 2235 Henry Lynch Road, SF. NM . Burial To follow at Cemeterio de Agua Fria county Rd 62 Caja De Oro Grant Rd. Reception to follow at The Sheriff's Posse, 3213 Rodeo Road, SF NM
Pallbearer will be Johnny Romero; honorary pallbearers will be Rudy "Bolos" Romero, Toby Mora, Phillip Trimborn, and Martin Griego
