Julie Mae Romero

Julie C Romero, 58, of Santa Fe, NM died on July 20, 2025 at her home in Santa Fe, NM following a two year battle with cancer.

Born on December 11, 1966, Julie was a daughter of David and Miquela Chavez of Moriarty, NM. Julie survived by her husband, Joe Romero and son, Emilio Romero, of Santa Fe, NM; parents, David and Miquela Chavez; sister, Georgine Chavez, of Moriarty, NM; sister, Andrea Chavez, of Santa Fe, NM. In addition, she is survived by many beloved extended family members including brother/sister-in-laws, nieces/nephews and their families, and numerous close friends.

Julie built a career as the Lead Registrar at St John’s College in Santa Fe, NM. She found joy in meeting new students, while helping them transition to thriving graduates over the course of their program. She had an Associates Degree in Business and obtained an honorary degree through St John’s College as the class of 2024.

Julie enjoyed traveling and playing games such as Yahtzee and Candy Crush. Many things gave Julie purpose and gratification however, Julie most enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She will be truly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St Johns College in Santa Fe, NM in her memory. 

A Rosary and Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, beginning 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Burial will be held at Rosario Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. The family invites you to celebrate Julie by sharing a meal and memories at St Anne’s parish hall following the burial.
