It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Salazar, who left us on July 10, 2026, at the age of 65.
Lillian was born on April 18, 1961, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and compassion. Known for her kind and loving heart, free spirit, beautiful laugh, and passion for living life to the fullest, Lillian embraced every moment with strength, joy, and authenticity. Her warmth and vibrant personality touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her family and friends. Her home was always open, and everyone who walked through her door was welcomed with kindness and love. She treasured every gathering, every conversation, and every memory made with those she loved most.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sanchez; her father, Ruben Vigil; her brother, Joseph Gurule; her sister, Lisa Soveranez; and her beloved children, James Salazar, Joe Salazar, and Christine Salazar. Lillian is survived by her son, Richard Alires; her grandchildren, Melakye, Zayne, Clarissa, Heaven, Savannah, Carlos, Dominic, Samuel, and Gionna; and her great-grandchildren, Carlos Jr., Kenito, Christian, and Lanyiah. Stepfather Pete Sanchez; sisters: Louise Sena, Angela Cedillo (Cesar); brothers: Ruben Vigil (Susan), Gabe Vigil (Dawn), Mike Vigil (Priscilla), Pete Sanchez (Monica), and Jose Sanchez (Maria); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her love, generosity, and unforgettable spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. While her presence will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 29, 2026, from 12-4, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 833 Early Street. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of her life, share stories, and honor her memory.
