Michael (Mike) Maldonado, age 67, a resident of Pecos, NM departed to his heavenly home the early morning of June 20, 2025, with his loving son Mikey by his side. Mike was born on August 17, 1957, to Narcissa and Manuel Maldonado and grew up in Las Vegas , NM . He graduated from Robertson High School in 1976 and continued his studies at Luna Community College where he earned his certificate in small engine repair. He later moved to Santa Fe where he worked at PNM as a meter reader then as a mechanic. When PNM had their layoff Mike took a different career path and went to work for AC&H. He enrolled himself in sheet metal design classes at TVI Vocational School in Albuquerque and became one of the best Journeyman around. He retired from AC&H with 28 years of service. Mike will always be remembered as one of the most caring and most generous man who never forgot the less fortunate and freely gave from his heart. Mike, most of all loved God, his family, and bike runs with his son Mikey, his nephews and niece Samuel, Daniel and Sherry and his friend Tom. Mike will be tremendously missed by us all. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Narcissa, Brothers Robert, James and Dennis. Brother-in-law Phillip Gonzales and sister-in-law Susan Romero and his mother-in-law Eva Lucero. Mike is survived by his sons, Michael (Dawna) and Eric (Elishia), daughter, Lyndy Vigil and his ex-wife Veronica, grandchildren Madison, Marcus, Miquela, Katlyn, Jacob and Kayla (Jose). His only sister Julia Gonzales and brother Alfred Maldonado. His father-in- law, Rudy Lucero, brother-in- law Tom Lucero (Esther), sister-in-law Josie Maldonado, Angela Lucero and Anita Lucero-Armijo (Andrew). Also survived by a very special friend who was like a brother, Tom Romero. His special nephews Samuel, Daniel and Manuel, Jimmy John and Keith Maldonado, Joseph, Nick and Louie Gonzales, special nieces Sherry, Judy, Joanna and Theresa Maldonado, Roseanna, Rebecca and Valerie Gonzales, Diego and Carlos Lucero, Jessica Ulibarri (Manny). Mike is also survived by his cousins and many friends. Services are pending and will be announced later.
