In Loving Memory of Shawn Ensey Martinez
July 28, 2011 – June 21, 2026
With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of our beloved son,
Shawn Ensey Martinez, who left this world on June 21, 2026, at the age of 14.
Though his time with us was far too short, Shawn filled every day with laughter, love, and a spirit
that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a bright and determined young
man who loved playing football, Topgolf, and paddleboarding. He took great pride in his
academic achievements and excelled in an accelerated program at school. His kindness, warm
smile, and caring heart will forever remain in the memories of his family, friends, teammates,
teachers, and all whose lives he touched.
Shawn was a cherished member of Light of Mission Viejo Church, where his faith and the
love of his church family helped shape the remarkable young man he became.
He is lovingly survived by his mother, Shannon Ensey Vigil; his father, Salvador Vigil; his
grandmother, Virginia Ensey; his biological mother, Kiera McKeller, and her husband, Henry
McKeller; his sisters, Serafina, Diondra, Frankie, and Kyra; and his brother, Charles. He also
leaves behind many extended family members, friends, classmates, coaches, and loved ones
who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Shawn was preceded in death by his grandfather, Sherwood Ensey; his uncle, Shawn C.
Ensey; his grandmother, Dora Vigil; and his beloved puppies, Simple and Starbucks, who
now welcome him with love.
A celebration of Shawn's life will be held at Light of Mission Viejo Church in Santa Fe, New
Mexico, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather to
honor his life, share cherished memories, and celebrate the joy, laughter, and love he brought to
everyone who knew him.
Although Shawn's journey on earth ended far too soon, the love he shared and the memories
he created will live on forever. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never
forgotten.
