Susie Trujillo

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Susie Martha Trujillo, age 80, of Jacona, New Mexico. Susie passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, surrounded by her family. Susie was born on January 8, 1946, in Pecos, New Mexico, to Victor Trujillo and Melicia Garcia. Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, generosity, strength, faith, sense of humor, and deep love for her family.

 Susie dedicated much of her life to caring for others, both through her career as a nurse and through the love she poured into her family and community. She also gave her time volunteering at her church and enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. She loved tending to her flower garden, baking, needlepoint, crocheting, and working on puzzles. Susie also had a love for traveling and treasured the many adventures she shared with her family. She especially enjoyed cruises, trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, and even simple drives to see the beautiful aspens.

More than anything, Susie cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family trips, holidays, birthday dinners, and time gathered together were among her greatest joys. Above all, Susie loved her family deeply. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and included. She brought people together, cared deeply for those around her, and always knew how to make others smile and laugh. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, generosity, strength, family, and treasured traditions.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Trujillo and Melicia Garcia; her beloved son, Alfred Joseph “AJ” Trujillo; her brothers, Louie Trujillo and Joe Trujillo; her sister, Dolores Gurule, and her husband Abel Gurule, Sister-n-law Virginia Trujillo, her in-laws, Henry and Manuelita Trujillo; and her brothers-in-law, Evaristo Trujillo (Mary), Levi Trujillo, Noé Trujillo, Manuel Trujillo (Ernestina), Henry Trujillo (Ercilia), Jimmy Trujillo (Paula), and George Trujillo. She was also preceded in death by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jose Alfredo Trujillo, Daughter Mellissa Gomez-Trujillo (Danny); grandchildren, Amber Gomez (Jacob) and Isaiah Gomez (Hailey); great-grandchildren Isaac and Elijah Gomez, and Jayden Ortega. Brother Fred Trujillo; Sister-in-law Yolonda Brown (Carl); Goddaughters, Pamela Espinoza, Alisha Spinks, and Andrea Trujillo; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and close friends. 

Services are scheduled for Monday, September 28th, 2026 at Our Lady Of Guadalupe in Pojoaque. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am, Funeral mass to follow at 9:30am. The burial will take place on Tuesday September 29th at 11:15am, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
