With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great grandfather Ted Salazar. He was born Jan 21, 1944 in Lumberton NM to Amalia Salazar he was called home to be reunited with our loving Stephanie (daughter,sister,aunt) whom he missed so much on July 15 2026. He was also welcomed home by his brothers and sisters who were called to be our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ before him, Herman Salazar, Fred Montoya, Melaquias Herrera and Ralph Montoya, Betty Montoya, Sara Montoya and Loyola Jaramillo sisters in law Beatrice Salazar and Porfilia Herrera. He is survived by his one and only love his wife Michelle Salazar his daughters Tracie Aguilar (Joshua) Melissa Gallegos (Joey) Isabel Stroud (James) his grandchildren Nicole Padilla (Shane) Adam Salazar (Isabel) Brittany-Kianna Alire (Nick) David Gallegos (Larissa) Josiah Gallegos (Cassandra) Elijah Gallegos and Josue Aguilar his great grandchildren Leo Padilla, Emillianna Alire, Eli Alire, Ezra Alire, Aria Salazar and Layla Gallegos. His brother Jose Herrera (Bernie) Arthur Montoya his sisters Priscilla Caro (Mario), Celia Vialpando and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He served his country as a proud Marine. He was a graduate of Stevens Henager College in Ogden Utah where he received his Associates degree in Computer Science. He was an instructor with Kenpo/Karate and Gung-Fu. He was a counselor at the NM School for the Deaf for over 20 years in Santa Fe NM and was a member of the Knights of Columbus with St. Anne’s Catholic Church as a 4th degree Knight. Our hearts are broken by his passing but we find comfort knowing that he loved us all dearly and his legacy will remain in our hearts forever he will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He loved his grandchildren (muchachos) and great grandchildren beyond words each of them will forever carry his memory and the love he shared throughout his life.

Services are as follows: Rosary at St. Anne’s Catholic Church 511 Alicia St. on July 31st at 6pm and Saturday August 1st a Celebration of Life will be held at Santa Fe Funerals and Cremation 1091 Siler Rd which will begin at 1pm-3pm with a reception to follow where everyone can share their stories.
